A quiet stage through the Bierzo valley, among Mencía vineyards, cherry trees and vegetable gardens. You pass through Cacabelos and reach Villafranca del Bierzo, where the church of Santiago has its Door of Forgiveness.

In the past, sick pilgrims who could not go on received the same graces here as in Santiago.
El Bierzo is the land of Mencía wine and botillo, a hearty cured sausage.
The next stage ends with a climb of over 600 m. Rest well in Villafranca.
