A short, urban stage following the left bank of the Nervión estuary through Barakaldo to Portugalete, where the Bizkaia Bridge, the world’s first transporter bridge, crosses the river.

Tips
You can cross on the upper walkway, 50 m above the estuary.
Many pilgrims do this stretch by metro. It doesn’t affect the Compostela.
If you are going strong, you can carry on to Pobeña.
