There are two options: climb over the La Espina hills or follow the coast through Novellana and Ballota. Both reach Cadavedo, with its Regalina hermitage on the clifftop.

The hermitage and viewpoint at Cadavedo have some of the best views on the Norte.
Over the mountain there are no services for many kilometres.
