You leave from the Sé of Lisbon, cross the city to the Parque das Nações and follow the Tagus north. It is a flat but long and very urban stage, with industrial areas before Alverca.

There is hardly any climbing: the path follows riverside walks, streets and tracks beside the river and the railway.

Tips
You can get your stamp at Lisbon cathedral. If you don’t have a credential, there are places in the city to get one.
Many pilgrims take the suburban train to skip the industrial areas between Lisbon and Alverca. It doesn’t affect the Compostela.
The blue ones lead to Fátima. For Santiago, always follow the yellow ones.
