The mountain stage of the Portugués. After a quiet start by the river, you climb to the Portela Grande de Labruja, the highest point of the route, and descend through woods to Rubiães.

Fill up at the last bars before Codecoso: there is nothing on the climb.
Pilgrims leave stones at its foot, as at the Cruz de Ferro.
The climb is on rock and very slippery when wet.
