You enter the province of León and reach Sahagún, halfway between Roncesvalles and Santiago, a town of brick Romanesque. Then a path lined with trees planted for pilgrims leads to Bercianos.

The route

You cross into León over the river Valderaduey past the hermitage of the Virgen del Puente, and enter Sahagún.
A pilgrim path shaded by plane trees, straight and quiet, to Bercianos.
Tips
At the sanctuary of La Peregrina in Sahagún they give you a certificate for completing half the Camino.
Leaving Sahagún the path splits: the Senda goes via Bercianos, and the variant via Calzada del Coto follows a lonelier Roman road.
It is the last place with big supermarkets until Mansilla de las Mulas.
