The stage begins by crossing the Miño by boat to A Pasaxe. From A Guarda, at the foot of Monte Santa Trega and its Celtic hillfort, the path follows a wild, rocky coast to the monastery of Oia, looking out over the sea.

Tips
At low tide or in a storm it doesn’t sail. There are water taxis and the option of crossing on the bridge at Vila Nova de Cerveira.
If you have the energy, the Celtic hillfort on the mountain gives an incredible view of the river mouth.
Few beds: book, or plan to sleep in Mougas.
