Pure meseta. The path crosses the high plain, drops suddenly into Hontanas, hidden in a hollow, and passes under the arch of the convent of San Antón before reaching Castrojeriz, strung out below its castle.

Almost flat ground with gentle descents to Arroyo San Bol and Hontanas. The finish beside the road is completely level.

Along the valley, beside the road, to the ruins of the Antonine convent. Its albergue has no electricity.
Straight towards the castle hill, entering by the collegiate church of Santa María del Manzano.
Tips
It is the only village with services on this stage.
The albergue among the ruins runs by candlelight, in season. Few beds and no bookings.
The next stage starts with the climb to the Alto de Mostelares, one of the steepest on the meseta.

The ruins of the 14th-century convent of the Order of Saint Anthony, which cared for those suffering from Saint Anthony’s fire. The path passes beneath its vault.
It is easy: short and almost flat. You just need to watch your water and the sun.
