A long stage that says goodbye to Navarre. Torres del Río and its octagonal church of the Holy Sepulchre, the ravine below the hermitage of El Poyo, Viana with the tomb of Cesare Borgia and, at the end, Logroño and its streets of tapas bars.

Up to Viana the ground rises and falls through short but frequent ravines. The last 9 km to Logroño are flat, past pine woods and industrial estates.

The route
Cereal fields and vines to Sansol, which looks across the ravine at Torres del Río. The octagonal Templar church of the Holy Sepulchre stands in the middle of the village.
The most broken section: down into ravines and up again, the hermitage of El Poyo on a hilltop and a path among olive trees to Viana.
You leave Navarre by the Las Cañas reservoir and enter La Rioja. The finish crosses the Ebro on the Puente de Piedra.
Tips
If 27.6 km is too much, Viana (18.2 km) has an albergue and every service. The next day Logroño is only 9 km away.
In Logroño every bar on Calle Laurel and Calle San Juan has its own pintxo. It is the classic pilgrim dinner.
Between Torres del Río and Viana there are about 10 km without services and with short steep climbs.
