The longest stage in Galicia and one of the most beautiful: stone hamlets like Leboreiro, the medieval bridge of Furelos, Melide and its pulpo á feira, and a succession of small river valleys to Ribadiso and Arzúa, cheese country.

No big climbs, but the ground undulates constantly: every river means a descent and a climb. After Melide the valleys are deeper.

The route
Tracks through oaks and eucalyptus, small hamlets and the entry into the province of A Coruña.
A cobbled road at Leboreiro, the Disicabo industrial estate and the Furelos bridge before entering Melide.
River valleys with bridges and woods, Boente, Castañeda and the Ribadiso albergue beside the river Iso, one of the prettiest on the Camino.
Tips
The pulperías of Melide are a must. You eat at long shared tables, with bread and wine served in bowls.
If 28.8 km is too much, Melide (14.6 km) and Ribadiso (26 km) are good places to sleep.
Arzúa-Ulloa cheese is sold in the shops in town. In March they hold their Cheese Festival.
